Norteño Music Day, November 16
The Nuevo León Congress describes norteño as the music of the accordion and the bajo sexto, known in some regions as “fara-fara,” to which many groups add upright bass, snare drum, violin and sometimes saxophone. In 2024 it approved a tribute to Los Invasores de Nuevo León, from Monterrey, for their career.
Six days later, November 22, is Musicians’ Day. If your party falls on those dates, book the group early.
Monterrey has no area page on ZONAS: when we measured it, the neighboring municipalities only added 3 or 4 groups to the city’s own.
